I am posting here a decision making tool that Joan Fanning had posted on the Steering Committee's email list.

These were her comments:
"I mentioned that I would send a decision making tool that we sometimes use with groups when we don't want to have a majority vote always be the defacto decision making process. Basically we do a modified consensus approach with some clear parameters. I usually change this slightly and customize to the group I am working but I think the tool is relatively self-explanatory. Take a look and if this seems like it might be useful in this meeting, great. If not, feel free to completely disregard."

I am posting here a link towards a webiste on non profit advocacy and lobbying that Melissa Pailthorp had posted on the Steering Committee's email list : http://www.clpi.org

These were her comments:
"This is definitely US-centric, but might be helpful in thinking through categories of knowledge, activities, etc"

AbilityNet have produced a guide to procuremnet of accessible ICT. Aimed at schools and local authorities it has a range of questions that would be sensible to ask if you were procuring ICT for a telecentre and wanted to guarantee accessibility within the specification

AbilityNet have been delivering advice and information support to telecentres in London (based on work delivered in Wales and Scotland) to ensure that people with a disability can access the technology offered for learning and skills development.

That work has recently been indpendently evaluated - I hope you find it of interest - the same technlogies have been used to support centres in both Ireland and the Netherlands

We'll be discussing the approach in more detail at the Vienna eInclusion confernce in a Sunday Morning workshop

In Telecentre.org there is an input about "Computerising agricultural cooperatives: a practical guide". It can be really usefull for those who work on Development issues (ICT4D). You can check the information here.

There is an interesting raport tittled: "Government 2.0: Building Communities with Web 2.0 and Social Networking" published in Digital Communities Website. There are interesting links and reflexions about being "in or out" of this huge world of opportunities...

I would also recommend to check "The Citizens' Handbook" edited by the Vancouver Citizenship Committee. It approaches different ways of building a sense of a community, making special enphasis in online participation processes...
