Safety online
I came across a great resource for children, schools, parents, educator and anyone else interested to learn in a nice way about safety and safety online. Follow this link

If anyone knows about any other online resources on this topic, I would like to find out about them. This is increasingly becoming a problem in Romania and we want to start raising the awareness in the communities we work with.

Support for users that are blind

One of the things that worries many centres is how to support users who are blind who need screenreading software when the software can be beyond the budgets of small centres

One very useful tool is NVDA (Non-Visual Desktop Access) which you can download from

http://www.nvda-project.org/

The website states that

NVDA currently has been translated into over 20 languages including: Brazilian Portuguese, Czech, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Portuguese, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Afrikaans, Galician, Croatian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Thai and Ukrainian.

Id be fascinated to see feedback from members as to how helpful this is - we plan to make it available at the Vienna conference to extend windows capacity and capability

Ian's contribution in Blogposts:
Further to the Vienna e-Inclusion conference, the Unit of the European Commission "ICT for Inclusion" organised an information and debate workshop, back to back with the general info day on Call 3 of the Competitiveness and Innovation ICT Policy Support Programme.1 The focus was on the European activities on e-inclusion in 2009 and beyond, particularly with regard to topics that could be supported through the CIP ICT PSP instruments, ad-hoc studies and dissemination actions. This document summarises the main outcomes of the workshop.
