Dear all,
Fundación Esplai along with women’s association Surt and Cooperative association Abierto hasta el Amanecer have produced a guide addressed to women to learn how to use ICT. Under the name “To use computers and Internet. Us too, of course!” this publication answers in a very simple a clear way, basic questions to get started in the use of ICT and Internet.
The guide has been co-funded by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce within the program “Women and ICT. Equal Access, Equal Rights”. It’s organized as a small block with cards that deal with different aspects in order to reduce the digital divide that undergo women with difficult access to ICT. Mainly, the guide collects very interesting resources for immigrant women, victims of gender-based violence, how to set up your own business, etc.
Since many immigrant women will have this guide, the first part has been traduced in 4 languages: French, English, Romanian and Arab.
The final block is an interesting glossary of terms related to ICT, a basic dictionary that includes the main words within the IT world and Internet.

This guide is being distributed under Creative Commons License.

In Bialystok (SPEK/IOB) we teach basing on MS Digital Literacy (of course on cuted version since we train people only one week)
http://www.microsoft.com/about/corporatecitizenship/citizenship/giv...
you can find on MS site also other languages

Now I am in rwanadan telecentre where i teach also on base of dig lit, but i prepare also for every lesson my own presentation in power point (do you now that you inspired me to do this? when you was in our city at spring). here i train ten days, 3 hours daily. first three lesson are about computer basics, next two about word, next two about excel, and next two about power point. last lesson is always diffrenent, but then i try to teach them how to use help files in windows and programs, that they will be able teach theirselfs when they will go to schools (i teach primary school teachers). i don't teach other things, even so important as internet, 'cause of simple reason: we don;t have internet in telecentre.

Those presentations i will publish somewhere, but when i will be back in poland. here i have gprs modem connecition with speed of ~2kbs and every presentation has over 1MB

btw. i found great tool to create animated tutorials from screen animations
http://www.debugmode.com/wink/
after instalation i really suggest to open first Help > tutorial 1 and next tutorial 2. after less than half hour of watching i start to add this into my power point presentation.

New FREE handbook on digital inclusion

Futurelab has just published a new handbook on digital inclusion, discussing the perceived benefits of inclusive education and how these benefits have changed the learner demographic of mainstream schools.
'Using digital technologies to promote inclusive practices in education' reminds us of the events during the 1980s and 1990s that have led to the movement for inclusive education and practices in today’s education system. It explain what is meant by the term ‘inclusive education’, how it relates to special educational needs, and the significance of the Department for Children Schools and Families (DCSF)/Department for Innovation Universities and Skills (DIUS) personalisation agenda.

To view the publication online and to request a FREE copy, please visit: http://www.futurelab.org.uk/resources/publications-reports-articles...
If you would like to request multiple copies to distribute to a network or at an event, then please e-mail claire.denney@futurelab.org.uk.
