Background:

This user approached the telecentre in 2005 (the year of its opening) to see and approach the world of new technologies, an individual artist (sculptor, painter) interested in social problems and who used the center as a place to find inspiration for new works of art.

Gradually, she started to be more literate in ICT, until she became an independent user, and started to collaborate regularly with the activities organized at the Guadalinfo center (exhibitions, celebrations of commemorative days, etc)

Contribution to Digital Literacy and Community Development:

The nominee, with her experience in ICT, convinces other local women to come to the Guadalinfo center and awakens a thirst for information and training in ICT.

It is clear that more women started to used the Guadalinfo center and when we look at the index of penetration there are more women than men. The nominee serves as a role model both for young and elder women to become more literate in ICT.

Leadership, Partnership and Resource Mobilisation:

The nominee collaborates with the Guadalinfo center in moments whent the facilitator is absent or in a meeting, and is responsible for opening and controlling the access to the center, and even help users in using the computer and the internet. She also encourages different collectives to collaborate on a daily basis with centre. She’s also promoting alternative courses of drawing and painting in collaboration with the Guadalinfo center, promoting the dissemination and understanding of fine arts.
