- INTERNATIONAL AID NETWORK - IAN (www.ian.org.rs) is a local civil society organization active since 1997 in the field of mental health promotion, as well as in human rights protection through provision of psychosocial, educational, legal and informational assistance vulnerable persons in Serbia. There are four programme units within IAN:
Education Department – IAN Telecentar – strives to bring closer the concept of lifelong learning to all citizens of Serbia, especially to vulnerable groups. IAN Telecentar delivers IT courses, English language courses, social skills courses (presentation and communication skills, recognition of individual potentials, assertive behaviour, CV writing, self-management, career development) and entrepreneurship courses. In 6 years of operation over 3500 beneficiaries attended the courses in IAN Telecentar. Trainings are free of charge for members of vulnerable groups. Since April 2005 IAN Telecentar is an authorised ECDL test centre. IAN Telecentar is a member of the Telecentre-Europe network.
Health Department:
Centre for Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (CRTV) provides comprehensive psychological, psychiatric and medical help, legal assistance and psychosocial rehabilitation through different trainings to people who suffered torture and other types of traumatic experiences. citizens on torture issues, importance of torture prevention and support to victims.
Centre for Mental Health and HIV actively works on raising the level of knowledge among relevant professionals on mental health problems of people living with HIV, their partners, family members and care providers.
Human Rights Department provides assistance to refugees and internally displaced persons in overcoming legal and administrative barriers for access to property, social, status and other rights and ensures valid and up-to-date information helping the beneficiaries to reach durable solutions for themselves and their families. In addition, in-court representation is available for the victims of torture.
Research Department conducts scientific research projects through comprehensive analysis of the data collected within IAN daily work with beneficiaries who survived traumatic experiences. The research activities are performed through inter-disciplinary studies within consortiums of respectable institutions in Serbia and abroad. Since 2002 IAN has been involved in international research projects supported by the European Commission FP5 and FP6 projects.
IAN has implemented more than 130 projects so far. IAN cooperates and works in partnership with numerous local, regional and European organisations, institutes, as well as with the public sector in Serbia.
