My organization
Katholieke Hogeschool Kempen, K^-point
Website

Address
Geel, Belgium
What we do as an organization (100-word description)
K-point wants to conduct and promote research on the junction of ICT, inclusion and minority groups. K-point wants to help the Kempen region by giving them access to the knowledge that was acquired through research. using the competences of the KHK through training and service. The main starting-point is to help minority groups and people with functional disabilities use ICT more often and more efficiently The centre wants to complement the existing organisations. It supports organisations as well as policy makers.
K-point sees potential in ICT as an inclusion tool for minority groups and people with functional disabilities. Innovative applications can improve both their wellbeing and quality of life.
K-point considers ICT to be a right for everybody and wants everyone to have easier access to ICT.
K-point wants to examine the impact of ICT on society and reduce the ICT gap. Weaker groups and minority groups will be given priority.
Since K-point wants to become a leading research- and knowledge centre on ICT and inclusion, it is developing a research programme of its own with specific research lines. It wants to become a high quality knowledge centre by providing, for example, training and services. It wants to help target groups as well as organisations and policymakers by supplying them with high quality publications on new knowledge about ICT and inclusion. K-point focuses on core values such as synergy inside and outside the university and high quality work.

Goal

K-point realises its vision through a number of strategic goals

* K-point develops an interdisciplinary research programme
* K-point takes initiative in providing services to the industry
* K-point organises training for teachers and external partners
* K-point produces high quality output
* K-point helps to bring the KHK-training in tune with the society requirements by interpreting research results and through students who find their way to the society.

Of ik loop even langs in Geel? (en u later in ons project?)

mvg,
Kirsten

Beste Jan,

Misschien moeten we elkaar eens contacteren. Ik ben bereikbaar op 03/641.08.50 (ATEL algemeen nummer)

met vriendelijke groet,
Kirsten Dewaelheyns
