What we do as an organization (100-word description)

The Consortium "Fernando de los Ríos", for the Development of the Information and Knowledge Society in Andalusia (southern Spain), is a governmental body constituted by the eight "Diputaciones Provinciales" of Andalusia and the Andalusian Regional Government ("Junta de Andalucia"), located in the city of Granada. Its Mission is to foster and to spread projects leading to the development of a Digital Environment that allows the Andalusian Society to grow culturally, financially and socially. Actually, we manage a Regional Network of more than 900 Telecentres ("GUADALINFO NETWORK" www.guadalinfo.es), and more than 800 people are directly employed in this network. Through this physical and virtual network, more than 300 Social Innovative Projects have been proposed and are being developed in The region by the own Andalusian citizens. Guadalinfo has become the first territorial, professionally managed social network with the physical presence and support of local agents. It is now a key element in the social networks in Spain, as the pioneering catalyst for change in the territory by providing access to contents generated by citizens and institutions alike.

At national level, it is strongly involved in the Asociación Comunidad Red de Telecentros http://www.comunidaddetelecentros.net/ where it holds the Vice-presidency. At international level, CFR is active in FAMSI - FONDO ANDALUZ DE MUNICIPIOS PARA LA SOLIDARIDAD INTERNACIONAL http://www.andaluciasolidaria.org/ related with vocational training activities.

What ICT or e-Skill training programs does your organization offer?

The Consortium offers a wide range of "e-learning" activities to its employees, to almost 800 dynamizers and to the users of the telecentros through an innovative Personalized e-Learning Environment based on moodle technologies.

What other training services does your organization provides?

We also offer presential training to the users in the Andalusian Telecentres Network, in order to lead and support them to innovate and generate their own projects, as a means of modernisation and transformation of our region.

Other services and activities:

Programmes aimed at showing dependent persons the benefits of I.T. technologies are currently under development, taking into account their particular characteristics and needs. Actions include training for the use of devices, platforms and services specifically conceived to increase their level of independence and their quality of life, providing incentives for the purchase of technical aids.

We also manage the digital platforms "PARTICIPA EN ANDALUCIA" (www.participaenandalucia.net based on e-democracy and e-participation services) and WIKANDA (www.wikanda.es), as the Andalusian "wikipedia".
