Telecentre-Europe update: coming soon ... a public launch for the network!!!

Hello all

We hope that you have all had a good summer. We would like to give you a very short update on a number of exciting developments with the Telecentre-Europe network

1. The Steering Committee have met in June and September to develop the plans for the organisation, and the governance and network membership documents. These will all be published next week on the Ning website.

2. The Staff Exchange programme is being launched on Ning on 14 October 2008.

3. We are meeting again in November to plan for a public launch of our network in Vienna at the European Commission eInclusion Conference. We are all very excited about this and will let you know more in the run up to the launch. Read more about this event at http://ec.europa.eu/information_society/events/e-inclusion/2008/index_en.htm.

4. We need your help now in completing a short survey about your networks of telecentres. The information will help us to understand the size and scale of the network in advance of the launch in Vienna. It should take you only a few minutes to complete. Please complete it as soon as possible. To access the survey, please click on the following link: http://www.surveymonkey.com:80/s.aspx?sm=L2Zhxx0BTG9Mmw6Pr0hcPA_3d_3d.

I also want to tell you about some changes on the Steering Committee. Pedro Aguilera has had to step down from the Steering Committee. He has been replaced on the Committee by Marc Botella from Esplai. Ian Clifford from UK online centres was invited to be to Co-Chair with myself. The Steering Committee is currently Ian Clifford (UK online centres), Marc Botella (Esplai), Christophe Devolder (Interface3), Ekaterina Fedotova (Idea) and myself. Also, as you might recall from a previous communication, for the next few months, Pawel Mackowiecki will be supporting the development of the network alongside Lize (who you all know :)). Laurentiu Bunescu has now fully taken over his role as Project Manager and will be helping to take the development of the network one step forward.

We are really excited by the plans for the network, and its forthcoming public launch. If you are going to be at the conference in Vienna please be in touch and let us know. Finally, we have already started thinking about another network event in the spring, so please stay connected to Ning to be part of it!!

Last but not least, I would like to say a big thank you to all of you who have continually communicated, contributed, shared experiences and formed partnerships via ning.

Looking forward to speaking to you again soon.

Gabi
